The breadth of writing and words spans from prose to poem, from storyteller to performance poet to spoken word artist. This festival will feature published authors and poets from the region and nation. Writers will perform and sell chapbooks. The artists will be available to converse, cavort, and sign books. The festival will take place in three different venues, culminating Saturday, April 19 at 9 pm with a spoken word performance at Donkey Coffee and Espresso. Featuring writers from New York, Athens, and St. Louis, Dancing Words proudly presents Jon Sands, a traveling word artist and son of Athens, as the festival’s headliner. Thursday’s opening reception will feature book signings and selected readings. Pyramids is hosting an showcase of local talent on Friday at 9 pm.
